About Our Group
A free, peer-led community for anyone with OCD, friends or family.
Who we are
Community-led support for people who get it
Austin OCD Support Group is a free, peer-led support group for people living with obsessive-compulsive disorder. We meet twice a month via Zoom, and our meetings are open to anyone who identifies with OCD — no formal diagnosis required.
We're not a therapy group, and we're not run by clinicians. We're people who live with OCD ourselves, and we come together to share experiences, offer encouragement, and remind each other that recovery is possible.
Whether you've been living with OCD for decades or were recently diagnosed, you'll find people here who truly understand what it's like.

Understanding OCD
What is OCD?
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition characterized by unwanted, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental acts performed to reduce the distress those thoughts cause (compulsions).
OCD is often misunderstood and misrepresented. It's not about being neat or organized — it can take many forms, including fears of harm, contamination, religious or moral scrupulosity, relationship doubts, and more.
The gold-standard treatment for OCD is Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy. Many people also benefit from medication and peer support.
